Old Muriel Cigar

I just found this Murial Cigar on top of a shelf, and it was in a plastic wrapper. I must have opened it a year or two ago and forgot bout it. I was wondering if it is still good or not??

Re: Old Muriel Cigar

Well, I doubt its changed much. But whether or not its good is another question.

If you do try it, I wouldnt let it turn you off to the world of cigars though. Id recommend grabbing something a little different if you are interested in cigars. There are numerous threads here that give some great suggestions for starter cigars that are easy on the palate and wallet.

Personally, I think that a Padron is a great way to start someone off with cigars. They are reasonable in price, and provide a good easy to take flavor and give some good practice with picking out and enjoying a cigar's flavor...which is what makes cigars so much fun. Another good smoke is a Torano. Both of these are easy to find and will rarely disappoint with construction or flavor issues. Your local tobacconist will be able to help you out.

Muriel = Bad. Pitch it and get something else.

Re: Old Muriel Cigar

I agree, pitch it! If you smoke it, you might get turned off to cigars all together. Try this if you like, go buy a Padron or a Fuente, smoke it, wait a few hours and then smoke the Muriel, you'll see what I mean.

I agree but dont buy the Fuente curly head. Try something a little better. I have bought several curly heads and even the deluxe curly head and was very unimpressed. The rest of the Fuente brand are top notch!

Re: Old Muriel Cigar

Mitch that is because the Curlyheads are mixed filler.

They are the scrap tobacco from the long filler cigars.
