I actually did buy these and it was 7/2003. I am bringing one to work today and will see if I have the guts to smoke it on the way home.

Wish me luck

I am not even sure age could help their cigars, but only one way to find out! You may just have to take up golf, cut them down a bit and use them for tee's.

I believe that most of the Thompson Brand Cigars are made with Light to Medium Tobacco to appeal to folks new to smoking. The only one I've ever smoked reminded me of smoking Tea and Hay. Therefore, aging them will do nothing but make them even more flavorless. Just ask the people who bought those 10 yr old Astrals from CI.

We are talking Thompson's here - I'd much rather have the 5 bucks.

Better than finding $50 in an old suit jacket.....
The case & stuff looks great. The sticks - smoke one, tell us how it was, then fuggedaboudit...

I'm with the others. Even if they are smokeable being sealed in the tubo's, they might still suck. It probably the same as finding a real dog turd sealed in a ziplock bag...Even if its still moist its still a turd no matter how much you polish it!

Might be lucky enough that the tubes did a good job and kept them good enough to smoke or even recover. but doubtful

3nuka, it probably won't be as good as that zaldiva you sent me, but I won't knock the Thompson's brands. I live in Tampa Bay, not far from Thompson's, and I've been over there several times. Personally I like the Navaro's maduro, and some others I have had. They are handmade, and come from the same countries as your finer smokes. I can't knock everybody elses taste preference, but to me a Thompsons sure beats a Garcia Vega, or a Philly for that matter. Hope you enjoy them!

Re: I found some long forgotten cigars in my house

Good luck with those!
Funny story-My buddy brings over some sticks on poker night(usually he steals mine so I'm thinkin' wow, my boy's growing up...) He proceeds to tell me a guy he works with gave 'em to him and that they're his favorites, he buys exclusively from Thompsons.
I say " you're not gonna smoke them,are you?"
Next thing I know we're firing 'em up- about 3 puffs go by...I look at him, he looks at me...no words were exchanged-just the look of pure nastiness and we both put 'em out...Sometime's you take one for the team, right?
