Recent smoke rings....

Well, Wednesday I had my usual herf with my friend. He fired up a Trinidad that I gave him and I fired up a Torano 1916 Cameroon. It was my first one, but I have had every other Torano previously. (I've always enjoyed thier offerings....And they keep adding new ones!! Have you tried the Casa Torano yet????)
The 1916 Cameroon was everything that I expected. Great construction, smooth flavor, and this particular one had an extremely oily wrapper that actually shined brightly in the light. We couldn't help but admire it as we puffed.

Then we iced down the brewski, mixed up the margaritas and prepared for the rest of my guests to arrive.....we were having about 8 people over that night, plus the aforementioned friend.
The next stick I fired up was a Fuente Don Carlos, followed by a Hemmingway Short Story, just before bed.

On Friday night, I tried a Cusano C10, under the advisement of several fellow gorillas. They said it tasted like a Cuban.
Well, I can niether confirm nor deny this, as I am still waiting to try a Cuban!! However, the flavor was exquisite......with little or no aftertaste.
I will defintely be buying some of these again!!! Then I smoked another Short Story after several Dogfish Head ales......(very hoppy beer, by the way....another definite recommend)!! The last cigar of the night was a CAO Italia. I had smoked the Brazilias frequently, and thought I'd see how they differed. Much more mild, I must say......(I'll stick with the Brazillias myself).

Tonight I think I'll try a Rocky Patel 1990 vintage......I can't wait until I get off work to fire it up!!!

I LOVE that beer. Since I've just gotten into the cigar thing, I will have to try and see what beers compliment varying styles of cigars. If you like hoppy brews, Cottonwood makes an excellent IPA here in the Carolinas.

Good choices. We had a mini herf here in the burgh. With a few of my friend comming over to the back deck in 30 degree weather. We fired up the pot belly fireplace and all sat around and had some good smoke. I started with a Ashton VSG torpedo and nice white wine from a local winery. Then I sparked up a Perdomo Estate Selection Torpedo with another glass of the wine, I finished the evening off with an Opus X Belicoso and another couple glasses of the wine. It was a great night.

Great choices in domestics!! If I'm ever in your neighborhood, I'll definately contact you for a get together -- although I might pass on the 30 degree weather -- Brrr!!

Yup.....Great Beer. They make a "60 minute infused" beer that is 6% alcohol, sells for about $8 a 6-pack, then they make a "90 minute" beer that is 9% alcohol,, sells for about $12 a 4-pack, and then the holy grail of hop heads:
the "120 minute" infusion of hops that packs an alcohol content of who knows what.....they don't label it!!! I've heard throught the grapevine (or is that hop-vine?) that it's somewhere in the 13%-15% range. I tend to believe it....you can definitely feel it after 3 beers!!
Oh, and the price: $8 per 12 oz. bottle. Yes, you hear right.....that's $48 per 6-pack.......PLUS tax!!
