Any feedback on this baby woukd be appreciated - 300cc Cigar Dome

Greetings!

I´ve been on the look out for a new humidor and found something that I think would suite me well.

It looks good and carries 300cigars, that´s what they say, but does anyone actually have it here on CS? I would like to know the following.

1) How many cigars does it hold in reality, is it even close to 300?

2) What´s that funky bottom interior? I´m used to that humidors have wood
on the bottom, but this one seems to have like metal. ?!

3) Where is the best/cheapest way to get it?

I found it here http://www.cheaphumidors.com/Merchan...ode=LGHUMIDORS

Thanks

If they say it holds 300, figure closer to 200-225.

I don't like the thought of having metal in the humidor, I would think with humidity would come condensation? I think there are better humidors out there for the money.....but you are saving $1500 off retail according to the site.

Offcourse, I forgot to add the question; If there´s something else out there in the same range (300cc) which also looks nice, then please come with suggestions

That is not metal, it is just holes drilled in the wood for better air and RH circulation.

I'm pretty sure it is not metal.

From the website: Spanish Cedar Aerator on bottom for circulation

I guess the idea it too improve circulation at the bottom of the humidor, this seems like a good idea. I would hope that piece is removable, especially if you ever wanted to clean up pieces of tobacco that are going to fall through.

I'm pretty sure Even Steven has one of these, you might want to send him a PM.

Are you looking for something fancy or something to hold a lot of cigars? If you are looking for something to hold a lot of cigars, I would check out the Vault humidor. I got mine from Mark at Cigarmony.

Here is a picture of mine.

I think this humidor is also called the Foot Locker by some vendors, either that or the two humidors are very very similar.

i just got one of those from ebay last week.

the floor is wood. it is also removable.

i got it for ~160 shipped. after 6 days of leaving some ramekins full of distilled water in it, it was holding 66%. i just put all my cigars in it earlier today and now its at 62%.

Right on the money! I do have one of those and I've had mines for almost a year now.

And a lot of you are correct, it's an extra layer of cedar with holes and really thin spacers to lift it off the very bottom and was made to help with circulation.

I love mines, I've made so many combonations with the dividers, and since my stash is usually changing (+/-), I'm always changing up the dividers, right now I have one tray out and I placed a few Habanos and some "top end" fuentes and placed that tray in my cooler, the tray is still in my humi and is holding a few high end fuentes and some smokes I plan to smoke soon.

Thanks everyone for your help. And regarding the "metal plate" I have to blame the early morning, but thanks for clearing everything out, it made my decision much easier.

I´m ordering one of those cigar dome chest. Since everyone is recommending Mark @ Cigarmoney, I´ll give him a PM about it, maybe he could make me a better deal than cheap humidors.

Thanks again

If its not metal at the bottom its a great humi. Just remember a 300ct never holds 300. It will problably hold 200-225 as Tom said.

Its a great looking humidor. You may also want to try Cigarmony.com. I know his sevice is A1 and I think he will ship to you.
