Cab loaded! Pics and the Big Decision
The new cabinet is finally loaded! The Cigar Oasis II ordered from Cheap Humidors is still on back order. However, the cabinet is doing fine maintaining humidity. During winter with the heat on the house runs around 40% humidity. I seasoned the humi with bowls of DI water. That seemed to work fine. Kept removing bowls until I was down to one and the humidity is still fine.

Now that the weather is warm, the unfinished portion of the basement where the cab is runs about 68 degrees and with a dehumidifier running the humidity is around 55-60%.

I decided to cancel the order for the Cigar Oasis II. Do not think I will need it. Just replaced the last water dish with about a pound of beads. This size cab needs about 3 pounds but I will see how the pound does first.

The beads were probably a little wet because the humidity went from 67% to 69%.

The cabinet is also doing well from top to bottom. The humidity difference was only 1%.

So, every thing looks great. Here are some pictures:

Do you know, was it made in China? If so, how is the quality and is it all solid wood?

It was purchased from Cheap Humidors. Their prices are good, but the shipping was expensive. I did know it was made in China. Talked to a friend that has been in the furniture business for a long time and he said there is some good stuff and bad stuff out of China. This Cabinet is made very well. It weighs close to 200 lbs. The walls are 3/4" cedar with laminate on the outside. Everything inside is cedar.

I ordered the cabinet on the weekend and they shipped it on Thursday. They only ship once per week. It arrived at the house the following Thursday.

The cabinet arrived is a well packaged box and was in perfect condition.
