Florida Herf

I have set up a poll for a month for the Florida Herf some of us want to put together, I limited it to Jan thru Jun or an any of the above button. I will do another for the location after this one is completed. If you want to offer a location for the poll just put it in a reply on this thread.

I hope we can put this thing together. Sounds like a good time and it would be nice to meet some LLG's face-to-face.

HMMM..... April.. Where at in florida ? THere are very cheap flights out of rockford to orlando. How close would that put me ?

I picked March... so maybe it'll fall on my spring break, and I'll be able to drive down for some fishing and smoking

Mr.C- If the herf is Orlando or south, we'll figure out a way to pick you up and get you there.

I vote March/April/June. Feb is booked solid. May is cardiac surgery conference time (www.mechanisms.com). June OK, except we're gone 5-9 to Aruba to ring shop for our 25th anniversary. Her ring, my anniversary.

I have some 5 star hotel connections because of the conference in Orlando. Maybe we can swing a package if enough are interested.

Yeah, there's an LCDH in Aruba. I hung out there often during the 3 weeks I was working down there. The selection is so so, and the prices are almost 2X what I usually pay. Just make sure that you check the cigars for beetles before you buy. They aren't exactly flying around in the humidor, but you will see them and evidence of their presence. Except for the usual stuff, you'll find some older stuff (98's) in the smaller sizes such as Part Charlottes, Boli CJ's, etc.

If you walk straight across the street from the port where the ships dock, the LCDH is located in the little outdoor courtyard area next to the mall. You'll see some signs.

Hey I thought we were doing this at the Keys? I asked a co-worker that lives in the Keys for some suggestions, Sharkes in Key Largo was her first recomendation for good food, drinks and smoking right next to the water. She and her husband turned out to be cigar lovers too, so they are willing to show us around. I vote for March.

Sory, I thought suggestions and a vote would be the fairest way for everyone. I'm not opposed to 2 herfs . The Keys are very drivable from where I am, but I thought some of the North Florida or Tampa area LLG's might not want to go that far. I love Key Largo, I lived in Key West from 1978 till 1984. Sadly, haven't been back since. My daughter (25 now) was born there. She goes back every few years with her new husband. March is running a close second to April at the moment.

I may be back down to South Florida for Spring Training in March. Even though I live in Virginia, I am about to head down to Miami Beach for the 6th time this year. Having a brother living down that way makes it a good excuse to go down.

I may have to start paying Florida taxes!

I picked Mar. during spring break would be a nice scenery! Keys would be awesome...Miami or orlando is cool also
