Devil site has gremlins

I emailed cbid and they replied telling me they have software issues with their website. I bid on a Xikar Exodus lighter the other night and I wanted to bid on a few more things if I won. Well the bidding ended about an hour early. The computer glitched and shut off bidding somehow. I did win the lighter at $37 but I would have liked to add a couple more things. Just an FYI. Anyone else notice this on April 1st? I don't know exactly what time it ended early.

It had to do with the "new" daylight savings time and the preprogrammed original daylight savings time.

It is supposedly a one time occurance.

I am not sure if it was the same problem but the website had major login problems March 31, thus you could not view the list your Open/Won/Lost bids since you could not log in.

If you go to the CBID forum and search keyword "login" you will see a history of this problem and the frustration it caused...unless the thread has been removed.

It sounds like it may have been a small "Y2K" meltdown, daylight savings time style.
Here is part of the message that would pop up when this drama was unfolding.

It was quite a "site" to see all of us CBID junkies scrambling about bidding a bit "blind without the website running properly.

The problem is fixed and I think they are considering changing over to Mac Servers running OSX (Linux).....just joking, but the web site is running like a champ again.

Sometimes information does not change/solve the situation but it can calm the nerves.

This would have happened if they did not have their server/computer updated. And if so, it really makes me wonder how competent they are running that site and web server. This isn't a regular user and a PC. It's actually pretty pathetic.

I'm not saying I won't visit the site again, though.

Yeah, I got nailed by this on a couple of 5-packs, too. Closed an hour early on me and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why. Oh well, at least you know there'll be MORE to bid on. Or knowing that will keep you up at night!

Yeah, I think the lot that I won closed about an hour early. I assumed that was part of the "5 minutes after last bid", but I guess not...

I think they shut it down because they were afraid of feeding them after midnight?
