Cigar Masters Event in Portland

I've never been to one and was wondering what their all about? And is anyone from PDX going to these 2 next month?

Where is the information on these events? I'm from Olympia so am not far away; moreover, I plan to be in the Portland area for wine tasting next month.

I'm in the PDX metro area. I googled for your information, found out these events are going to be at both Rich's and Cascade. But just what the heck are they. Have you found anything out about them?

hey rm, from what the guys on the other board tell me it's where promoters (sp) come in and hand out freebies and cut some prices on box's...everybody says just make sure you go...so I'll be at one of them,most likely the 12th at Cascade's I work the 13th so don't think I'll get off in time

Well, i dropped into Rich's yesterday and asked about this event. They had a flyer, and it said:

"Benjamin “Benji” Menendez, General Cigar’s senior vice president of premium cigars will be at Rich’s on 13 Jan 05 fro a Cigar Masters Photo Event from 3-6:30 pm.

….. some bio stuff …..

Don’t miss this chance to meet one of the true Cigar Masters. There will be great deals offered on leading cigar brands like Macanudo, Partagas, and Punch. All attendees will be welcome to have their photo integrated into a Cigar Master poster of their own to commemorate the event."

Anyway, that's the deal.

Hey rm, thanks for the info so tell me do you buy from any of the 3 Rich's,Paul's or Cascade....or do you buy mostly on-line? I see its cheaper to buy box's on-line, I buy singles at Paul's over in Beaverton

also talked to a guy on the other board and he said:

I just recently got to meet Benji Menendez of Partagas fame, here in Cleveland a few weeks back. Nice guy, good cigar handouts, got a free Excalibur No I limited edition. At this event, they let you get a free picture with the "cigar master" on a poster with his autograph. Also, the event had a lot of good deals as far as prices on boxes. They gave about 25% off on all Punch, Partagas, and all Hoyo brands.

Sounds like a pretty good deal

I live in the metro area so i go to Rich's and Cascade. Never been to Paul's, never even heard about it. I don't buy boxes from these folks but it is a great way to try out singles, and besides i think it is important to support the local shops. I have gotten to know a few of the guys at downtown Rich's, and they make decent recommedations on cigars i have not tried. But you can't beat the on-line prices v.s. your local shops, so ....

Thanks for the update -- i was planning to go to the Event anyway, but that news closes the deal. The possibility of free cigars!.... cool! i'm all over that.

Hey rm, ya I buy my singles at Paul's and box's on line (the 3 are just to high) I go to Paul's cause their the cheapest of the 3 if I can save a nickle I will
