Atlanta - Highland Tobacco Company
A friend told me about this place recently.
Highland Cigar Company - http://www.highlandcigar.com/ This is a relatively new lounge that opened about a mile from where next to Inman Park/Little 5 Points in Atlanta. It's more a lounge than a typical Cigar B&M. I had a little time last night, so a buddy and I went to enjoy a smoke. As soon as you walk in, the greetings from the bartender is welcoming. I was expecting to find super-inflated prices on the cigars based on the type of establishment as well as the part of town, but when I walked in the humi, most of the cigars were maybe a dollar above retail. I started with a Padilla 1932 Torp priced at $15, then smoked an LGC SerieR Maduro Robusto for $7 Fine selections in the humi from Perdomo, Padilla, Montecristo, RP Vintage, OWR (overpriced at $20), Don Diego, Camacho, La Flor, LGC, RyJ.... I'd say a pretty broad range of cigars for the type of lounge. The only other thing that was outrageously priced were 2 mix and match Opus Boxes, as well as 3 Forbidden X.. Prices on the Opus start at $34.00 and go up from there. That's okay though, I made sure that I could bring my own cigars to smoke if I came back.... The libations are catered around cigars, a good selection of scotchs, wines, ports, tequilas. I sampled the lat bit of Suntory Whisky (which I've wanted to try for a while now) and had a nice 12 yr Cragganmore with my Padilla. The lounge area is in two sections opposite the bar that runs the entire length of the establishment. The sofas and lounge chairs are rich brown leather, what I'd call a man's lounge. The acoustics are bit loud, hard surfaces everywhere. There were about 6 people in there at 8:45 when showed up. When we left at about 11:30, there were probably 30 people or so milling around enjoying cigars, socializing. The air system is phenomenal, if not a bit breezy, but the air in the place is replaced entirely every few minutes. (check link above for details) I never felt like I was in a smoky bar the entire time I was there. Britt coffee is brewed.. very tasty. If you're in the Area, you should check it out.
