Recent Smoke Rings

Herfin' during the week....

Wednesday night some friends came over and I drank an entire bottle of Wild Turkey 101 with my buddy...just the two of use finshed the whole thing!....Started off smoking a Rocky Patel 1990 to go along with it. I think these need to sit awhile in the humi. Tasted a bit on the grassy side.....not anything like the others I've enjoyed so much. And my friend was smoking one that came from the same source at the same time. His tasted great. So there are some definite consistency issues with these.

After several more Shiner Bock beers (made here in the good ole' Lone Star State!!) and more 101, I fired up a Carlos Torano Tibute 2003. This is their so- called "limited edition". The flavor was strong, but not overbearing. Wonderful nutty flavor, with hints of what appeared to be butterscotch/coffee. Really a great smoke......just like most everything Torano makes. I was very impressed, and recommend you pick one up to try.

Thursday night the wife and I went to our local "watering hole". It's a cigar-friendly sports bar that I've been going to for about 11 years. They stock Franziskaner just for me there.

Had a few pints with the bridal unit, and smoked a Padron maduro 4000. I was a bit leery about smoking this particular stick, as it looked like it was unraveling for some reason. Luckily, ther were no burn problems, and it smoked flawlessly. I don't have to tell you about the flavor, it was true to Pardon standards.....delicious!! At the last inch or so, it finally began to taste peppery/spicy. So naturally, I burned my fingers on it; smoking it down to the nub.

After about 6 pints of the hefe-weizen, and a shot of Patron Anejo tequila, I was ready to go. I smoked a Torano Exodus 1959 silver when I got home. Then off to bed.

Friday afternoon about 3:00 we arrived at the local tobacco club/shop. I walked next door and bought some more Shiner Bock and settled into a large soft leather chair in front of the Big-screen. I fired up another Padron. This time it was a 1964 aniversario that I purchased there. Pure heaven from the first puff to the last. A fellow cuatomer was sampling some scotch so he shared it with me. I can't even remember the name. Mac-something.....and there was a big number 30 on the lable.....I think it means it was 30 years old. The nerve of him to give me such old crap. He could've at least had the decency to buy some fresh stuff to try!!!

The bridal unit was feeling adventurous, and decided to try a flavored cigar from CAO. It was the Eileen's Dream. White chocolate truffle and Irish Cream. I sampled it, and I must say, even though I do not like flavored sticks, this one was really, really good. I mean, really good!! Amazing how you don't even taste the flavor until after the smoke has been blown out....and then it lightly lingers for a few moments on your lips and tongue. So she bought several. The owner convinced her to try the CAO Karma-Sutra Krush (or something like that). He said they were selling them like crazy. The flavor is mango and mint chocolate. Neither of us cared that much for it....so I shall type no further in regards to it.!!!

Sat there, had a few more beers, then we got a call from one of her friends. We walkd down street a few doors and had some sushi....then it was off to the bar. Smoked a Short Story to fill the time of the drive. Wifey had another Eileen's Dream. She is loving these.......!!!
Upon arrival at the bar/club I lit up a huge CAO Brazilia. Man, I tell you these things taste better every time I smoke them. I am really starting to have a strong affinity for them!!! It took me over 1 and half hours to smoke it!!! I The karaoke sucked at this bar, and worse yet, it was all country music. (I dont' much care for it, so I shall type no further in regards to it!!!)

Off we went to another bar.....the entire group of about 13 people. And this bar had a band. Actually had a bit of talent, too. So we decided to dance a bit and drink alot. Needless to say, We stayed till closing time at 2:00. I smoked a La Gloria Cubana when I got there. I think I was the only person in the whole place (and it was pretty big) that was herfing. Oh well, their loss I guess!! Teh La Gloria did not disappoint, either. One of my favorites.

Finally managed to actually get a buzz after another La Gloria and too many beers to count. The wife gave up trying to stay caught-up with me. I am a professional. (Kids, don't try this at home......or anywhere, for that matter!!!)
Then, at 2:00 closing time, off to the IHOP for breakfast. I managed to crawl into bed around 4:00 am. 4 hours sleep, wake up, and go to work. And here I am. Too bad I have to work.....I really should be on a fairway somewhere hitting a golf ball pin-high on the green for an easy one-putt. Oh wait......How silly of me......Make that UNIPUTT! Yeah...... That would be better......yeah......that's nice......yeah........ smokin' a stogie and drinkin' a brewski. Yeah.....that would be great........no work.....all play......yeah...........................!!!

Nice. Sounds like a great week! You sure do hang out at bars a lot, my kind of guy.

Nice taste too. Torano Tribute, Padron, Padron Anni, Short Story and that 30 yo Macallan must have really tasted great. I just couldn't keep track of the different cigars and boose you sampled during the week....great read.

Re: Recent Smoke Rings

Yeah, well, I'm quite Irish, so I guess it comes with the territory!

There's nothin like a good cigar/good liquor/good company/good food/good music. Except for maybe....say.......good sex or good golf. Never had any good golf, though!!

Glad you enjoyed the read. The best part that I left out was about this girl who lives across the street from us. She is a complete co-dependent alcoholic. She was playing two guys at the same time at the last bar we were at. (Was currently dating BOTH of them....and they were both there!!) She was literally falling down drunk, and kept trying to order more Long Island Iced Teas. She was so hammered, the waitstaff was bringing "virgin" drinks.....and she didn't even know it........The 2 guys actually wound up at our table with her, and were both "competing" for her attention. It was hilarious!! It was better than reality TV!!!

I guess you had to be there to appreciate how silly they all looked with the popcorn flying, her laughing uncontrollably, falling out of her chair, spilling drinks, Lighting the wrong end of cigarettes, etc. etc..........And of course, the guys who were both trying to put their arm around her......priceless, I tell you. Especially when they tried to dance.......

Re: Recent Smoke Rings

Glad you all enjoyed it. I'll continue to post weekly updates of my binge drinking escapades.....along with a few comments on the stogies I smoke.

I'm going after the elusive title of CS official drunk.

The only problem is trying to remember everything the next day.

Tonight I think I will be having a few beers/whiskeys with a friend. I called him up and told him I got "bombed" with a bunch of Cubans; from a fellow member here. I probably won't be able to get rid of him now.....!!!

Incidentally, if you sent them to me....fess up!! (Or at least give me some clues!!!)
