Useless? How is increasing sales, as well as, improving customer relations useless?

The biggest problem with TNT isn't your shipping policies or lack of samplers
as much as it is the responses I have recieved again and again from those you work with.

I hope these are things you can also improve on
so that I feel more secure in ordering from your company again.

Re: TNTCigars Update (Thank you)

oh well, no biggie on the sampler, there are already enough damn samplers out there to put us all into debt!

anyway, it's great to see this type of interaction on the forum, as well as even incorporating some of our suggestions into your policy. thanks for spending the time, it is appreciated. just make sure you don't let Dimitri anywhere near the forums, it does not sound like customer care would be his strong suit

Glad to hear you're going out of your way to improve service for your customers. It's nice that you have taken the time to receive input from all of us Gorillas and keeping us updated. Kudos to you, and I look forward to an order in the future with you.

What is truly useless is such an arrogant statement as that from Dmitri. Despite customer input, he knows better. Great prices or no, I won't be doing business with TNT as long as that kind of attitude prevails.

Whatever business I might have given you (I was giving serious consideration to buying a box of Padrons) will now go elsewhere.

That is my response to his response.

Sorry that you have to work with such a twit. My condolences.

I don't think it's anything to get THAT worked up over is it? So the boss doesn't see a special sampler as being worth the trouble, big deal. He said the SAMPLER would be useless, not YOU personally. They seem to be making good efforts here, so consider listening to the words in your own sig and lighten up a little

Well, I disagree that a sampler would be useless, as I think it would probably be good for your business, but I don't buy samplers, so I personally don't care. As long as I get my stuff on backorder in a reasonable amount of time (and in good condition), I'll be happy, since it was a great price.

I'll probably do business with TNT again, though I should wait a while to let my credit card recover...

wouldn't want to go that extra mile to impress and try to gain the business of almost 4000 active members, huh?

That's a shame. Good luck with your business and in all you do.

I guess.

He also didn't like the idea of USPS and thought it would just scare people off because of bad reputation they have? I thought that was silly...

In that case, I wouldn't have an internet business at all, sounds like a good move to remain a brick and mortar, and all the security and exposure and lack of shipping hassles that provides.
Too bad there isn't a shipper out there you could trust.

Well, I didn't take it personally and I'm not even hacked off, though perhaps my post doesn't show it well.

If the attitude is that the voiced preferences of customers/potential customers is "useless", then this is a guy I would prefer not to do business with. Where I come from, you strive to provide what the customer wants. He arrogantly blows it off as useless w/o even giving it a go. THAT is what gets my goat.

I prefer a place with a positive attitude, and there are heap plenty of them out there. They get my money. Arrogance does not. That's all.

you say "he also ....", as if you're pointing out more things he didn't like. are you just trying to pile on him and throw him under the bus, or what exactly are you up to? he is your boss, and you do work for TNT right? as in you have their best interest at heart? i'm beginning to wonder...

just a small tip: in the future you might consider filtering his comments a little more before posting, they have obviously produced some negative reactions. you probably don't want to expose customers to that kind of stuff, if they really want that they can go read his blog or something. keep the internal stuff internal, and then you have the story you tell everyone else. it just works better that way, trust me

Re: TNTCigars Update (Thank you)

Don't get my wrong, my boss and I get along fine, hes a very smart guy, just we see differently on some things, he's a wonderful person to deal with when it comes to customers, everyone both in store and over the phone who have dealt with him will see he is a great personality and very customer friendly, he actually goes way out of his many times to help customers who either had the wrong item shipped, or didn't like the smokes. He sometimes over-thinks things when it comes to new ideas, like with the USPS thinking it would hurt us because you the customer would be wary of a company who uses it. After showing him its what many people liked over UPS he was actually quite amazed that people thought that, so then decided to add the option.

Ok, I haven't really chimed in too much on this thread but have been following it.

So, my question is this, which changes is TNT implementing and which ones aren't they implementing? Seems like the info is all over the place and frankly I'm not even shure what's going on anymore.

I havn't bought from TNT before but that doesn't mean I won't. I just don't know what is what anymore. Could you outline exactly what changes we can definitely expect please?

Re: TNTCigars Update (Thank you)

I, also, have not chimed in to the debate, yet. I'm impressed that TNT is concerned enough that they have a presence on this board and are actively seeking out suggestions. I don't expect all suggestions to be accepted with them anymore than I expect anyone to take all suggestions. It is his business, after all, and he will run it in the way he feels best.

Having said that, I'm disappointed he has decided against the sampler idea. What would have been the harm in trying it? If it didn't work out then he could have discontinued the idea with the knowledge that the interest just wasn't there. As someone who doesn't have a lot of experience with cigars, I would have loved to have seen some specials. Also, as a business man, you would think this would be a great way to attract new blood for your business. After all, I'm sure he would have garnered some very loyal customers from this board because he was reaching out and seeking the board's suggestions and then acting on them. Oh well, maybe he has enough customers already and doesn't see the need to expand his base.

Again, thanks for your interest in what we think.

I completely agree about samplers because even those who have been smoking for a while like to try new things.
