Gran Habano No. 5 Rothschilds? Any good?

Gran Habano now has a Rothschild, 4.5x50, in all 3 wrappers.

Anybody try them in No. 5? Are they in the same league as the gran robusto?

At ~83 bucks for a box of 40, the GH No. 5 Rothschilds could ring my bell for a solid short smoke assuming they are as good as the larger cigars in that line.

Re: Gran Habano No. 5 Rothschilds? Any good?

Well, i have not had this particular size in the #5 Corojo wrapper. I have had the #5 in the 6x54, and the #3 in the Rothchild size (4.5x50)

The #5 was just a killer cigar; strong, well built, and sensuous. These were RTS (ready to smoke) right out of the box, but had more character with time.
But you probably already know that about this size -- i do not see why the Rothchild would be any different, but...

The #3, also an excellent smoke ONCE aged. They definately needed a prolonged rest. They were just too wet, and had that moist hot heat that i hate with wet cigars.

Hope that helps.

Re: Gran Habano No. 5 Rothschilds? Any good?

The only Gran Habano I've had is the Corojo #5...WOW
strong smoke, had it last night seemed to mellow out a little after a 1/4, lots of smoke and a great burn. I also picked up a Habano #4, I'll let it sit a couple of days just so I can try 1 of the other smokes I got let us know how they are.

Just noticed that! Where are you finding these for $83, if you don't mind my asking?

Hahaha, sure, I let you know where they are cheap, you buy all the boxes, and I have to buy them elsewhere.

Seriously, I found them at 83 (they were on sale for 78 last week!) at www.fullerspullers.com. Same smokes are $106.95 at CI. The Gran Robustos are $59 there at fullerspullers, 64.95 at CI. Dunno why the Rothschilds seem better priced at FP than CI relative to the other vitolas. The price on the Rothschilds was the best I have seen, in a full 15 minutes of looking - hahaha.

I ordered a 10 pak of the Rothschilds and a 10 pack of the JDN Machitos. I have not ordered from them before but they shipped this order the next day, priority. Shipping was a bit high, 9.00, but they "included extra cigars to make up for shipping charges". I'm OK with that.

They're frickin' great! In fact, in the rothschild the no. 5s seem to avoid that slight bitterness you get at the end of the Gran Robustos. You would not be throwing away your money.

I have one of these that someone gifted me sitting in my humi. After reading this I'll have to pull it out tonight and fire it up.

Re: Gran Habano No. 5 Rothschilds? Any good?

Just got my box from fullerspullers. Nicely packaged, humipak storage, extra cigars worth more than total cost of the shipping. I'm a happy camper, 10 each of JDN Antano Machitos and Gran Habano No. 5 Rothschilds. YUM!
