Re: A Cigar Puffing Question
Yeah depends on the cigar. Most of the time one good long puff every minute or so is perfect. But sometimes if it is really not producing much smoke I'm guilty of double puffing.

Re: A Cigar Puffing Question
Depends on my mood:
if I am nervous/pissed, I take quick puffs If I am relaxed or doing alot of flirting, I tend to smoke slow

Re: A Cigar Puffing Question
I usually take 1 long draw about every minute if I am just sitting. If I am doing something where the cigar is held in my mouth, then lots of little puffs.

Re: A Cigar Puffing Question
It's definitely personal preference BUT the key is to make sure that the cigar doesn't get too hot!
A hot cigar will become bitter and harsh and you will lose a TON of subtle flavors. (Try to stick to the "1 minute rule" between draws). With thin ring guage cigars, make sure you use more of "sipping" (like through a straw) to prevent it from getting too hot. Hope this helps ~Mark |

Re: A Cigar Puffing Question
I tend to enjoy the larger ring gauge cigars and take a puff every minute, or so, keeps the stick lit and cool.

Re: A Cigar Puffing Question
i let the burn and smoke tell me how many puffs to take. if the cigar is burning well and producing smoke then i'll take one. if it is having troubles then i will take a few short puffs until one puff will cause and even burn and good amount of smoke.

Re: A Cigar Puffing Question
I switch it up usually until I find whatever combination of light/strong draw and mouth/nasal exhalation yields both the most tasty and comfortable smoke.
I usually sip and exhale partially from the nose and every couple minutes take a power draw (assuring to burn all components significantly) and exhale the first little bit from my nose.... this seems to really get a huge taste blast going.... A highly personal and "your mileage may vary" type of thing, puffing is.... |
