Opening my freshly arrived order.

The U.P.S. man just arrived. To my surprise, my cigars were a day early. It was as if the birds got louder, the sun got brighter, and the breeze blew in celebration of my newly arrived smokes. The UPS man even had an extra bounce in his step. I could not wait to open the package.
As I carefully opened the box, I found a well protected bag of beautiful cigars. As I took the baggie of cigars from the box, I hoped the aroma would somehow reach me through the platic. I opened the baggie, and was greeted with the smell of warm dark chocalate mocha, coffee, with a pepper twist. my Great Dane lifted her nose as to wind the newly introduced aroma. I was reminded of a Seattle coffee shop that I frequented while in Washington for a while. I pulled the newly bought Padron assortment from the bag, and lay them out on my poker table to admire and photograph.
Even though these smokes are somewhat common, I was still filled with a since of great ownership. At that moment, I was reminded of the motto in "Full Metal Jacket", only I replaced the word rifle with smokes. These are my smokes. There are many like them. But these are mine. That is until a BOTL comes along to share with.

From left to right:

2 Padron 3000 Naturals
3 Padron 3000 Maduros
3 Padron Londres Naturals
2 Padron Londres Maduros

My humi is not yet seasoned totally. What should I do to these babies for a couple days? Also, anyone got tips on how long to rest them?

Thanks for reading. Sorry so lengthy. I know this is probably a pretty trivial post. I'm just proud of my new smokes.

Thanks everyone,

Tim

Re: Opening my freshly arrived order.

Tim,they wont need to rest but a couple days if you are so inclined.
A ziplock bag or tupperware will hold them for a week or so...
BTW,great choice of cigars too!

Re: Opening my freshly arrived order.

I agree with TriShield they should be fine for a couple of days in the plastic ziplock bag they came in. Also they probably shipped them a little wet so just remember if it doesn't smoke that well today don't give up on it let it rest and it will probably be better.

Don't you just love those early packages.

Not trivial... at least not in THIS forum my friend! I eagerly read each word, enjoying your descriptiveness and feeling a little envy of the new arrivals. If there is ANY place you can be proud of your new smokes and know that people understand it is here. Well done, and thanks for the pics!

Nice bunch of cigars. Love those Padron maddies. You can send me the cigars to age them till your humi is ready.

I have to admit that I also feel somewhat silly about looking forward to going to the B&M or getting cigars in the mail. But hey, I enjoy it so I should try to get rid of that "feeling bad about feeling good" stuff...
