How to Smoke. Some Newbs may need to know.

After a few of my friends asked me if they should be inhaling their smoke, and asking me, "How the heck to stand to inhale those things?". They were surprised when I said I don't. So now I don't have to see them turn green two draws into a Short Story . Here is a link that might help some newbs that may be a little reluctant to ask someone. I hope it helps someone.

"Should I remove the band from the cigar before lighting it? It is a personal choice to remove the band of the cigar, but be aware that in certain places it is considered rude to advertise the brand you’re smoking."

Nice post. Can anyone elaborate on the part about "certain places it is considered rude" ?>

Do I have to cut the cigar first in any way? That is my favorite question I get at the shop from first time smokers....

From what I've read, especially in other countries, it's like showing off your brand of clothing, or keeping your new tags on your unbent hats to say, "Hey - I have a cool new hat...check it out." It's a way to show that you are able to shmoke the good shtuff.

Personally, I light my shticks up and let 'em burn about half way before taking the band off, but that's just my own personal M.O. It makes it easier to take them off, then. I say do whatever makes you happy.

...Unless you're smoking Cohibas in your car with a Cohiba hat, Cohiba shirt, Cohiba cutter and lighter, and license plate "COHIBA." Then you're a f*cktard.

Try expelling a little of the smoke through your nose. You experience a lot more of the cigar's flavor that way.

The only experience I get out of doing that is having burned and hurting nostrils lol.

I like keeping the band on, probably because that's where I like to wrap my fingers around when I hold it.

Works a whole lot better with vintage smokes. Newer cigars will indeed singe the nostrils!

The oldest cigar I've smoked is a 00' Trinidad Fundie, it still hurt.

I keep the band on usually because when i try to remove some of them, the rip the outer layer of the cigar. i do not smoke really expensive cigars, so hopefully no one thinks i am trying to show off!
