Bad Day - Grandpa Died

Rough day yesterday, death in the family - grandfather - 80 years old. Not a good way to start a weekend that's for sure. He was sick for about 2 months and started going donwhill a few weeks ago.

Hey, he would have been 80 at the end of July so now a bad life all in all. He LOVED cigars. He kept them in a jar in his refrigerator and sowre they were as fresh as when he bought them. The guy literally smoked 4-5 cigars per day (Dutch Masters) old timer, know what I mean? I used to drop by and give him a "real" cigar and he was just blown away while smoking it. He just couldn't believe how good they were. When I told him the price he was blown away a second time He said that for the price of 4-5 of my cigars he could get a whole box of his. He never threw any of his cigar boxes out and he lined his garage with them, kept screws, and waht not in efvery box. A few years ago we counted the boxes that we could find - it was close to 600 boxes of Dutch Master cigars. Again, this is what we found and God knows what he actually did throw out or smoke on the job, vacation, etc.

Although it was/is a sad time we all gathered together, had some laughs, stories, coffee and a few smokes in his honor. The next few days will be rough of course and he will be missed, especially at family gatherings, picnics, holidays and of course BBQ's - the guy loved the way I cooked.

If you all could do me a small favor I'd appreciate it. Sometime over the next few days when you light one up or take a puff just give a little nod to "Grandpa Joe". I am sure he is somewhere hopefully enjoying a ciagr or two

Thanks

I pray that Grandpa Joe will rest peacefully. I'll give him the nod a little later today. Stay strong.

Many years ago, I lost my Grandpa Joe too. Still think about him all the time and I'm glad to have all the memories. My Sunday morning coffee cigar will be for your Grandpa Joe.

Sorry to hear of your families loss.

Sounds like you have lots of fond memories of "Grandpa Joe", hang on to those they can last forever.

If I had a Dutch Masters I'd smoke it in his honor.

Consider it DONE! Henry (82) and I will have one this afternoon in honor of Grandpa Joe.

Keep the faith, bro... The void you're experiencing now will soon be filled with fond memories. PERIOD.
