Devil Site

Well, so far, I have escaped relatively unscathed. So far, I'm 0 for 6 in bids. I thought I had won a sampler of Alec Bradley's last night. I went home about nine p.m. and was in the lead and thought I had autobid enough to win...however, someone came in with five minutes to go and outbid me.

I guess I ought to thank everyone...it's hard to get addicted when you keep losing.

Re: Devil Site

LOL... some of the bids don't make sense. Some folks will bid more than they can outright buy them online. When I bid, I am looking for a deal.

Anyway, fear not. You'll get some experience with "winning" soon.

(Is it really winning when all you are doing is buying what somebody is selling? Kind of like putting money in a pop machine and pressing Pepsi... and yelling out "I won" when the can drops!)

Take care.

Re: Devil Site

Luckily for me I steer clear of bidding on that site. I do peruse it often, though. Just in case I am able to find that one special steal..

Otherwise no bids for me (which is a good thing, us college students don't have a lot of money! Especially since I had to have my car fixed twice in the past week and a half..)

Re: Devil Site

I typically only bid on things that are at least 50% off the retail on like CI, JR or Famous. I want my cbid stuff to have real value. Because of that my record is only about 50% I just don't want to win it for the sake of winning I want value smokes for my bid. Next month is my birthday, soo I may treat myself and go up to 70% lol.

Like you Addiction, I make sure the winning bid is meaningful. I use BestCigarPrices.com for my comparison...among a couple of others.

Re: Devil Site

I'll stick with around 50%, but once I win some I'm willing to spend closer to retail on others I want as I'll be paying the shipping already.

I'm with you on my bidding. I'll take a higher end cigar to 20% off retail if I already have some things coming.

I haven't looked around too much on cbid but it seems like the cigars are mostly overpriced. I don't think I have seen any deals on that site yet.

There are literally tons of deals of cbid. Heck I'd say the average winning bid is at least 20% lower than internet prices. You do see some things going for more than retail but its rare, you should look around again.

No deals? I want to know the places/sites you buy from! I understand that many premium cigars cost more on Cbid (Opus X, Padron Anni), but many other brands always seem cheaper.

Re: Devil Site

Keep your head up!! Wait till you get some Toranos or RPs for two bucks a stick. That will keep your hand on the mouse a few hours a night. I don't buy a lot from CBid but I spend WAY to much time comparing CBid to retailers and looking for a deal. I probably could have built an arc or something with the time I spend looking at auctions. Of course it's hard to smoke and hammer; smoking and clicking not so much.
