Helping our frinds too the leaf..

Does anyone else here end up being the "dealer" for you friends cigar habbits? It seems after trial and error and being associated with such fine BOTL's, our tastes have been honed in well enough where our friends who are occasinal smokers will come looking to us for their fix..

Now I don't make any money off this, but my friends know if they want a good deal and a really good smoke to call me first. When I make orders I do the research, talk to ya'll on here, and then call the group of guys and see who wants to do a split. they are rarely disappointed. Thier wives on the other hand don't like me so much...

I have three guys at work that have started smoking cigars since I started smoking around them a while back. I enjoy sharing what little I know with them.

Re: Helping our frinds too the leaf..

I've been smoking for a number of years so a lot of the newer smokers around me don't share my palate.
While I do make a lot of recommendations to friends, and often give them lots of samples, I'm always nudging them to learn the ropes for themselves. You know what they say about teaching a man to fish.

Yesterday i received an e-mail from a close friend of mine who's the occassional cigar smoker (her's reallly more of a wine connoisseur). He was very excited. Ordered two boxes (Siglo I and Party Short) from a vendor in Europe, picked them up on his trip, and made it home with the boxes intact. He was alll fired up!

Re: Helping our frinds too the leaf..

I am always twisting Aaron's (Hungsolo here) arm to get him to buy more cigars. He in turn now has 2 other guys he gets to split his half of the order with. Tonight for instance he will be placing an order for:

AF Chateau Cuban Belicoso SG
Lusitania Robusto Maduro
*Hopefully* 2 fivers of Opus #4

So not only I am getting Aaron to buy more fine smokes, other guys end up getting them in the process as well. Heh, I heard him talking about loving the Perdomo 2 Maduros so I let him know about the "mistakes" CI has for about 1/3 the price of the banded ones. He ordered them that night.

I suspect my name is a 4 letter word to his wife by now!
