Illusione Cigars

These are great cigars that my local B&M started carrying. Great spicy smokes in a variety of sizes. I enjoy the 888 but am looking to pick up some new sizes.

Cu-Avana can use more attention Great cigar and the price is very reasonable

Cu-Avana Maduro is a gorgeous cigar. Handmade by cigar master Manuel Quesada, the genius behind Fonseca and the original Dominican Romeo y Julieta

Graycliff Cigars

Tatuaje used to be considered in this arena but they've started mass producing the past year so I don't think we can consider them there any more.

and the reason why is because this cigar is from TABACALARA TROPICAL - TT - my favorite and most underrated Tabacalara IMO. The Illusione is made by only the best rollers in a smaller "branch" of the Tabacalara. I actually haven't had the Illusione, but hope to soon. I think TT is making great strides to overcome some construction and burn problems they have had in the past, but I love the flavor of their sticks. Many of which are closeout deals at Holts - see TXMatt's cheap smokes thread (http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?t=57242).

Of TT cigars that I have had and like very much are the Condega Connecticuts, Brahma, Connecticut Crazies, Nicaraos, Don Juan Special Cuban Blends, Buena Cosechas.

Jim Cronin at Top Shelf Cigar has some very nice sticks from TT at high end (Top Shelf select [Blue and Black]) as well as a "bundle-type" cigar the Del Sol. JBI was kind enough to send me some of these and they look awesome - should smoke through some in the next couple of weeks.

BTW, Top Shelf's "Top Shelf Select - Green Label" is a Pepin cigar. Kind of tells you something if Pepin is in the same Top Shelf Select lineup with the other two Tropical cigars (Black and Blue Label). Pepin did some work for TT before he started out on his own, and I have heard that TT may even supply him with tobacco still for his some of his own sticks. Pepin is putting out so many sticks these days I wouldn't be surprised if this is very true.

Back to the Illusione - I think this is a real effort on TT's part to really put out a top notch stick with some slick marketing to try and build their reputation. Curiously, that may be hard to do as they don't appear to associate their name very closely with TT.

Cheers,

BillyBarue

I, too, would recommend the Bucanero line of cigars! Some of the most intriguing and well built and delicious cigars I've ever had.http://www.bucanerocigars.com/

Re: sleeper cigars

5 Vegas Series A is an awesome smoke that averages $3 a stick. The Leesburg Cigar And Pipe Robusto is also a really amazing stick.

Of course thanks to Addictions review, mine and many others of this smoke the devil is starting auction prices higher. Buy them now while they are hot.

Also Felipe Gregorio has become a go to cigar company for me. Their Dominicana is a great mild cigar and the Centenario is a good full body. The devil sells these for around $2 - $3 a stick.

Re: sleeper cigars

Felipe is good but some may not like the sweet taste of the wrapper. Do try it at least once though.

I currently have been smoking alot of the Mystic Knights and Powers.

I've got to agree the El Original was quite surprising. I haven't had the maddie, but the natural is yummy!

Re: sleeper cigars

La Tradicion Cubana makes some nice smokes in Miami. For a richer version, try their Sabor Cubano line. Available several places; got mine from Voila.

My B&M threw me a Kristoff when I was in to buy a box of Padrons. It sat in my humi for a couple of weeks as it doesn't really look too special. He asked me to let him know what I think so I decided I had better smoke it before I go back to see him again. Fired it up and was blown away from the word go. These are on the top of my must get more soon list.
