I hate allergies

Spent all weekend not having a cigar cause my nose is literally plugged from the inside. It is not stuffed or anything, but no air goes in or out. It wouldve been a waste to smoke a nice stick so I just opened the cooler and gazed longingly.

As Im watching the Sopranos, my pipes magically clear! I can smell my wife's coffee! YES!

So I head into the office room and I pick out nice cigar cause Im so happy I can smell again. I light it, and it tastes great. 10 minutes later, my nose it plugged again. Im 1 inch into a 7 inch cigar.

On the flip side, my wife has bad allergies. It's great...she never bugs me about the "nasty cigar smell" when she's all plugged up. She can't smell it.

Nasonex is a wonderful drug. One spray every morning, no more plugged nose.

Thanks, I will look into that. I usually take Zyrtec and it usually works well but this past week or so Ive had to add Sudafed and its still not working.

Try cleaning out your sinuses with a neti pot.



If you breath in a grain of dust or mold or pollen or whatever and it causes an allergic reaction you can take drugs to counter the allergic reaction but it's much more effective when you also remove the cause of the problem.

A teaspoon of local honey every day also helps.

I've been doing the same. I now think I'm on some kind of DEA watch list with as much sudafed as I've had to buy this year. I have used Astilin (sp) it is great. When I saw the Doc earlier he said it seems to be worse this year than in past years.

I finally broke down and smoked a RyJ Bully Sunday after a two week break. Still not much flavor maybe in another week.

I have been going through the same problem as you, allergies are a royal pain. I have just been burning my less than stellar smokes for the past couple of weeks. Got to thin out the collection and make room for the good stuff now that I am working for the summer anyways!

I don't usually like to take a lot of medicine and only do when it gets really bad. I hate being dependent on pharmaceuticals. That being said, its been so bad this year that I don't think I would of been able to go to work without them.
