Re: Banded or Unbanded?

I nub almost every cigar I smoke so I remove the band as soon as I can do so without tearing the wrapper.

Re: Banded or Unbanded?

I leave the band on until about 1/2 way. I was told at an event once that it is an insult to the cigar maker if you take it off.(I took it off, he was the maker) He said you should be proud of what you are smoking. To each his own, but if you are ever at an event and the mfgr. is there, my advice is leave it on. Just my.

Re: Banded or Unbanded?

I keep the band on, because I want to embarrass my fellow smokers by smoking a cigar far superior than what they are smoking

Actually, I take it of as soon as it's loose enough. That way, no one laughes at my Bad Frogs or Cremosas.

Naked for me, but I have to admit I like Stonato's little ritual.

Re: Banded or Unbanded?

I usually wait till the last 3rd of my cigar. Once I cut the band off before I lit the cigar and forgot which end was which. You guy over the age of 60 can relate... The removed bands wind up in a jar with the rest of the dead soldiers. Go Spurs Go.

Life is to short to smoke a dog rocket.

Naked, always. I hope the band comes off clean so i can keep it, but if it doesnt it gives me an excuse to smoke another one.

Re: Banded or Unbanded?

I leave the band on as long as I can. I enjoy looking and studying the band as I smoke. I just think it give the cigar a little more character.

...good. So I'm not that weird.
That's what I think adds to the enjoyment, the little rituals. We probably all have many we're not even aware of.

Re: Banded or Unbanded?

If it comes off easily pre-light, I take it off. If not, I smoke a little and then remove it.
