Well, since you all did a good job of this, I figured I owed you guys a sort of review as well.
I picked these 2 because I got deals on a box of each. (I can't pass up a good deal on a sub $5 stick.)
I really enjoy almost anything from Patel, but I tend to smoke more of the Indian Tabacs, since you can get good deals on them. I really can't tell much of a difference between the 90 or 92, so when I got a deal on these fatties - I jumped.
I actually prefer the fat RG in the Patels - I have found they taste better than the smaller sizes.
However, I found the reverse is true of the Tats. The narrow ones pack better flavor. I even have some of these in a Lonsdale size - which looks weird when you smoke it, but tastes great.
I have developed a serious Pepin addiction since smoking the Tats - I buy whatever Pepin product I can get my hands on.
My brother gave me one of these Angeles' in a blind taste test - and I wanted to throw it out during the first inch. But I think I was greatly rewarded in the 2nd half as the taste really develops. It is an odd cross between licorice and carmel and spice - but it works.
Watch again - I am trying to run these contests every few months.
