Talk about addicting! Especially when I have an empty humidor that is nearly ready to take stogies.

Re: Please God don't let me win all my auctions

I was there last week with 10 open bids and daily shipping... I thought I had changed the shipping to weekly but I somehow managed to not change it. I won 8 of the 10.

Oh well.

Yeah, but consider the rush you get when you win an auction and you know that it's priced considerably less that the retail rate. But I feel your pain anyway.

I actually had to cancel an order because I didn't have enough money in my account to cover it. Kind of embarassing.

Man o' man... I know your pain. You start bidding... thinking... "Hey, someone schmoe is going to outbid me anyway." Next thing you know, your inbox looks like this:

Customerservice @ cigarbid.com You Won Lot XXXX
Customerservice @ cigarbid.com You Won Lot XXXX
Customerservice @ cigarbid.com You Won Lot XXXX
Customerservice @ cigarbid.com You Won Lot XXXX

Shortly after I start to think of ways to smooth it over with the wife.

Re: Please God don't let me win all my auctions

ROFL. You ain't the first.

After about 6 months of the slope, I've developed a little bit of CBID discipline. I've monitored a few particular sticks I'm interested in (and stopped bidding on anything and everything that interests me), and figured out what a few "can't pass on it" prices. Not just your average CBID price, but the "better than the best price you've ever seen on CBID."

For example, I was watching Padilla 1932 Corona Gordas, and saw them go for $33, $35, $41, and even $45 over the course of a few weeks. I wanted to try some, so I placed a couple of bids at $31. Eventually, I actually got one for $29, which was the best price I've seen 'em go for. Which made me happy.

So.. my suggestion is WATCH A LOT, and BID A LITTLE for a while. Once you figure out some crazy low prices, you can always throw them out there (and bid all the time, like we all enjoy doing), but you'll lose most of the auctions (which is a GOOD thing). Occasionally, you'll hit one or two... but you'll be even happier because you paid not just a cbid price, but a great cbid price. (And once you win one, then you can up a couple of bids to pick up a couple more 5 packs and take advantage of the additional .$50 shipping.

Just my unsolicited

We all feel your pain.

The other side of the coin is it really makes you feel like crap when you get caught up in all the bidding and end up overpaying. (believe me)
