does ashing affect your smoke?

Even after trying to counter these problems using a various techniques, I still often find that my ash turns black and taste goes foul for several puffs after ashing, and I am wondering how common this is. Would appreciate your feedback.

I get minimal burn issues ever once in a while, but not really any foul taste. Are you ashing manually or letting it fall off on its own?

for me it varies, sometimes natural and sometimes a forcible ash, just depends on the situation

I find if I rub the ash off prematurely it seems to burn a bit hotter for a few puffs.... so I do my best to ash only when needed
