10 Cigar Otterbox

I'm leaving tomorrow morning to go on a one week vacation. I am taking some stogies, well, all of my stogies in this box. I plan on adding a few drops of distilled water to the little humidifier. Has anyone used one of these boxes before? How much water should I use, and should I pack some to re-wet it?

I just use a water pillow in my 5 count...I'm ordering a tube of beads for my 15 count...if you are just using distilled water i would bring some extra...just in case

Re: 10 Cigar Otterbox

I have a 1 oz tube of beads I could put in there...I didn't think about it until now but I can just take 9 stogies and use the extra spot for the tube
A 1oz tube won't be over kill will it?

I leave a full five count in my golf bag for weeks at a time with no water in it and they're fine.

Got a 15 count and it works fine with distilled water. Got a few extra small travel things of water. Had it with me on my last trip home and had them in there for 8 days with no prob.

(Kinda)

I am beginning to understand the benefits of "dry boxing" cigars, especially Nicaraguan (and most specifically Pepin) cigars with high Corojo and Criollo content. I am on the road all the time for 3 -4 days at a shot. My 15 count cigar caddy (thanks TXMatt) seals pretty tight. And for the added benefit of dry boxing I do not add any water at all for the short 3-4 day period. But, I don't think a couple drops of water for your week long trip is a bad thing either. If they are Nicaraguan, you might be surprised by the flavor/burn improvement with some time in a "dry box" environment.

JMO,

Don't add a thing. You will be fine for a week.

That box seals tight enough and you dont need anything for a week trip.

If you add distlled wate you could over-humidify the cigars.

When I first got my 10 count I put just a drop or 2 of water and the humidity went sky high!

For a week you will be fine

not that you are stupid, richard..

but you are 100% correct.. dont add anything, a week is fine...provided the cigars are humidified correctly when u put them in the otter box.. (of course!)
