Tubos - now what

Loving my MC petit tubos I seem to have started to amass a collection of empty tubos and I am wondering what now.

I have seen some great things done with labels i.e. the card table edging but what can one do with 35 - 40 empty tubes.

Anyone have any ideas? Anyone seen someone actually put these to use?

Please tell me there is some sort of deposit on these and I can take 10 in and redeem them for a full tubo.

Re: Tubos - now what

Since I'm a cheap SOB, I haven't yet shelled out the money for a real cigar case.

I keep all my tubos and reuse them. When I have a night on the town, I toss a couple of other cigars into tubos, toss them in my pocket, and never worry about them again until I go to smoke the cigar.

I want to make some kind of pouch and afix a couple/three tubos inside of it, and have a homemade hard cigar case.

I actually have used them as cases for my expensive fountain pens. Yeah, I'm that guy.

Not a bad idea.

But don't worry about the pens. I have about ten expensive pens that I have recieved as gifts that I have no clue what to do with. People figure that being a writer, they should give me a pen. Little do they know I haven't written anything by hand since the 5th grade. They just sit in a drawer, all boxed up and not being used.

You should sell them, and use the profits to purchase some more cigars to help inspire you to write...just a thought.

I've thought about that. I just feel weird about selling gifts.

I have tons of crappy gifts I'd love to sell, but they were gifts, so I'll probably keep them until I die.

Re: Tubos - now what

I have several Zino tubes (the larger ones that are almost an inch in diameter) that I plan to bore out and make bead tubes out of.

Using a CnC jet mill (although a regular drill would work, I'm into clean-cut holes) I'm going to add about 50-200 holes (depends what my models look like when I code the milling (and I may start with a piece of aluminum tube stock to test it), none larger than 1/16 of an inch all over the body, then fill it with beads. That way I have a stylish looking bead tube for my desktops.
