Calibrating a Hygro.

So I received my 300ct. Humi yesterday.
It is now seasoning.
I am calibrating the Hygro and it has been in the bad with damp salt.
Did that yesterday, this morning I checked it and it was at 60%. yes there is a screw to adjust the rh to 75%
But can someone explain this to me.

I mean with the salt in a closed ziplock is that a 75% humidity environment?

Do I then just turn the screw so that the thing reads 75% and it is good to go?

I know...Digital, right?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

B

You pretty much got it right on both accounts

I would leave it in there for a day again after you adjust it to make sure you have it right.

Re: Calibrating a Hygro.

yep digital is the way to go... but on the cal... 24 to 36 hrs the hydro. should be kept inside the bag.. are u using a boveda.. also remember on your analog hygro.. what ever u read after the 24 to 36 hrs period thats your reading.. +/- .. so if your hygro was reading 60rh after a day thats +15.. so 60rh is actually 75rh per your hygro.. 55rh is 70rh per your hygro.. according to your test result... but save the head ache... digital digital digital
