Ditch the Blue Moon, It's a good beer but I'd pair the Padron with a nice cold Shiner's Bock (if its available where you are)or maybe a Bass Pale Ale.

And I would buy something really nice for the girlfriend when her birthday rolls around.

Oh! You're from Portland, Oregon! You may be able to find Breckenridge Vanilla Porter in your part of the country. I drinked a couple of six packs of that last summer while enjoying a few Padron maduros. It worked for me.
