I agree to an extent. When i buy I try to buy a bunch of different stuff cause I know from week to week my smoking desires change. Sometimes I must smoke only maduro and sometimes I can take or leave them.

Andyman - Agreed, palates do change. For that reason I think that it would be wise to stock up on only the absolute best you can manage.

My palate changes over time, but I doubt that I will ever move away from Fuente, Ashton, Davidoff, Rocky Patel etc. Anything I stock up on from those companies is money well spent IMHO. Cheers, Larry.

Good post, but I disagree with your 4th point (and 2nd I suppose as we have been importing gasoline- yes refined gasoline is being imported from Europe now because of our lack of refining capacity- thanks envirowackjobs) nehoo I think the internet and technology will only make it easier to screw/go around the government. I mean I can play poker on a site based in the Caribbean so I think I can find a way to get around a 10 dollar/stick tax.

Smokers who order tobacco products over the internet are already 'avoiding' taxes, unless they declare the purchase and pay what is due. And the states are becoming more and more aggressive in collecting those taxes. There would be no way of avoiding this federal cigar tax when ordering from a business in the United States (if there are any left in America after it passes.).
