No. I can't remember the specifics, but it has something to do with the mineral content in the tobacco leaves. You can see them on the ash and wrapper usually. Or it could be white mold...or plume...hard to say without pics and more info.

I smoked a RyJ coronitas en cedro last night and saw the white specks, exactly as shown on the vitolas site.

I too thought I was smoking beetle eggs....
