I just went through the same thing. I wish though that the doctors that I saw were smart enough to figure it out so quick. I spent about a month being sick before they got it right. By that time the virus started to attack the nerves in my face, they called it bells palsy. I'm just starting to get over it but i completely feel your pain.

Hey bro, I feel your pain, this means more time for you to watch over your stogies, relax, and get better. (hopefully you can relax I didn't catch if you had to work or anything). Those spreading infections are nothing to mess with- I being the invincible 22 year old I am though I was immune to sickness so when my wisdom tooth became infected I didn't do anything for 3 days until my face, mouth, jaw and neck were so swollen I couldn't open my mouth and could hardly swallow water. Doc said I wasn't far from bone/brain/heart problems from the infection. I can tell you though that first stogie you pick out when you feel better is going to be gooooooood Get better soon

Thanks for the get well wishes guys. I really do appreciate them and when I feel better and am back on my feet I'll hold a "Rob is Healthy" contest of some sort.

Believe me when I say that I'm not about to take any chances with this infection. Someone mentioned using a nicotine patch and that's probably a good idea. So whoever mentioned that, thank you for the great idea.

Yeah, I won't be smoking untill the doc gives me the all clear and as I said before and someone else mentioned in this thread, those first few stogies that I spark up will be glorious. Also the fact that they will have aged a little bit and had a chance to equalize in the humi just means that they'll be in their prime smoking condition.

Did they put you on Prednison (sp) and ultra harsh antibiotics, I think it's called Zithromax. The strangest thing was that I didn't have a fever and the whole thing was developing like the common cold.

I really hate the way the Steroid makes me feel, it's like I'm some sort of crazed energizer bunny, the inhaler only adds to the feeling because that too is a steroid and the antibiotic cream that I have to put into my eyes every four hours is just a horrible feeling. Just imagine putting vasaline on your eyeballs and you'll know what this stuff is like.

Yet with all that said, man am I glad that I went to the ER because it's scary to think what shape I'd be in if I had let it progress another week or so.
