Strange answer from ebay seller

I like to look on ebay for all kinds of stuff, including cigar items. Humi's, lighters, cutters, etc. etc..

You even see a lot of cigars for sale even though it is against ebays rules.
Well when I see a box of cigars listed I sometimes like to ask the seller question. Just to see what happens. Sometimes the answers are, lets say entertaining.

Today I sent the seller of some cigars a couple of questions. I asked if they were stored properly and why he was selling them?

Here is the reply:
Dear Jeff - Great questions. First, all cigars have been stored in my humidor. However, ANY CIGAR, no matter how great the humidor, will become dry in storage. Therefore, with every sale, I include a short summary of a process that will re-humidify most any cigar. Rehumidification is well worth the time because aged cigars are exceptionally smooth. Cigars from the 1940's and 1950's have received the highest rating from many cigar magazines.

Second, I am selling because I just have too many cigars in my humidor. I simply could not smoke them all in my lifetime. There is no sense in keeping them "locked away." Let other folks enjoy them.

If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I guess I really don't understand how humidors work.

Ummm.... OK. Note to self: Never buy cigars on e-Bay.

Thanks for the heads-up!

I see two things wrong here, most notably, "I simply could not smoke them all in my lifetime."

Sounds like a wuss or a liar

Why risk it? It's not worth it. This guy doesn't sound legitimate. eBay has rules for reason. The rules are usually set up to protect the consumer.

Anyway, he doesn't make any sense. Every cigar dries up in storage? What is he talking about? Why does he bother with a humidor?

My experience with eBay is that if something seems fishy, run!

Re: Strange answer from ebay seller

sounds like someone knows what a humidor is but not what the humi part stands for. He probably has a nice box with no humidifier of any sort.

have gotten some stuff off E-bay. Most recently an Opus X Shark. you really have to buy the seller before the product.
