Re: 1-on-1 BTT DBall vs. KASR
The first review is for cigar #3. I picked this because it was small, and I love smaller cigars.. also, it seemed about perfect for a night like last night. Once I grabbed it out of the bag, I really thought KASR mistook a lead pipe for a cigar... the construction was ridiculous. Seriously, I'd have needed a tool shop at my disposal were I to try to break it.
![]() It clipped clean for the most part, though I had to use a compound miter saw, and actually drew pretty well (for being an iron baton). I got some definite cocoa and earthiness for the first half of the stick. Typically, I would break a review into thirds, but this really didn't warrant such a description. ![]() After that, it started burning the hell out of the tip of my tongue.. I kept going though, although all I could really taste was pain... ![]() ...a little after this point it decided it really didn't want to stay lit. In fact, after many discussions about it's obstinacy, I determined that it just didn't care. Sheesh, little cigar, did I do something to piss you off? ...silence. Every time I tried to re-light it, it bit my tongue again. ![]() The above photo should be captioned "Evil Stogie's Last Stand". There were some flavors I couldn't pinpoint, and it was the second cigar of the day, and it did just come in the mail earlier that day... maybe it didn't get a fair shake. Regardless, I still felt a little tingle on the tongue this morning from it. The construction was flawless, very impressive. The flavors were there, but it wasn't terribly complex and nicotine-wise, it was pretty much so-so. I wouldn't be seeking these out again, I don't think, and would give it a 5 (mainly for construction and the first few pulls). It was not a bad cigar, I didn't want to chuck it midway through or anything, but it was difficult to keep lit near the end and killed my tongue. As for guessing what it was... I have no idea, but I think it was pounded into shape by a blacksmith rather than rolled by a torcedor... Thanks, KASR! |
