Wow!

Almost makes me willing to go to the antique stores with the parents! n3uka, how much did that tin run? Was it an obviously high price (i.e. the person knew the stuff inside was smokable), or was it reasonably priced?

"pretty good" doesn't quite describe them the one in the PPP at MMH was particularly scrumptious

I thought it was a very light cigar, tasted a bit floral.

Dave, great to see a relic from the past....as well as a can of Muriel Cigars!

Did someone say something about these being from Havana? I was under the impression (and yes, I'm dating myself too) that these were American made cigars...Of course, made famous by Edie Adams with her catchy tune of "Hey big spender, spend a little dime with me.

What a unique treat they must have been...something akin to opening up a time capsule.

That was my impression as well. Also, wouldn't these have been banned in the 60s if they were from Cuba?

I've gathered the laws concerning the embargo were only to ban new Imported tobacco from the point of enactment on.
Previously imported tobacco(AKA Pre-embargo) was legal, and if still around today, would be legal to own and smoke in the US.
And having it in a sealed can makes it easy to prove it's pre-embargo.

Am I wrong BOTL's?

I was raising a slightly different question. If new imports were banned and had been banned for some time, I wouldn't have expected Muriel to spend money on commercials and printed ads. Therefore, it never occurred to me that these cigars were a Cuban product.
