Re: A can of Muriel Cigars brought to you by n3uka...

I'm wondering what kind of Binder Muriel used. In the late 1950's, many domestic cigar makers switched over to Homogenized Tobacco Leaf binder, in their quest to make an even milder cigar to suit American Palettes, as well as cut costs. Did anyone unravel one of the nubs and see what was inside? Back then, cigar packaging didn't have to mention if it contained HTL or not.

A quick question. I often see old half empty boxes of Clear havanas when I'm out radio hunting. The cigars often look to be in decent shape, other than being dry. Would it be possible to bring these back in a humidor if they aren't too far gone?

They did have HTL binders and I think wrapper too.

I do believe these fall into the "Clear Havana's" category , at least thats how I was able to get the 5 pack that I have . I recently picked up an empty Muriel Senators can on Ebay . I bet these must have been pretty sweet when you cracked them open !
