Especially during winter months. Temp. and RH hold a lot more consistent in the coolers.

Thats what I'm doing now.

Now isn't storing singles vertically bad for the cigars? I like the idea of getting smaller trays that will fit at the bottom and stacking them. Will the ones from cheaphumidors.com work?
Do what you feel you need to do. When you start down the slope it really doesn't matter how big you're humi is, or you're cooler, or you're closet, you will always want more stogies. Trying to control you're buying by limiting the size of you're humi is (IMHO) ........... well....lets just say, good luck with that.

I did the same thing as you. I thought a 100 count would be plenty. After a month, that was full and I bought a 250. Now after another month, I am wondering where I am going to put the 3 boxes I have on the way since both of them are jam packed.

I asked the same and never got a difinitve answer based on experience so I tried it myself. Head up or foot up it hasn't made a difference in the 6 or 8 months, however long it's been. The only consideration I've given it is to keep the humidity source away from the vertical ones.

Don't so much as even have swollen feet over it.

That will just fill up in no time. Go with a few smaller humidors and the hugest cooler you can find!
