Re: New To Cigars..Newbie Give-A-Way THE WINNERS
Well I was able to sacrafice the Rocky Patel 90 to the golf gods yesterday while waiting to tee-off. The cigar was a robusto (one of my first) and I was pleased with the amount of time it lasted. It lasted about twenty minutes on the putting green and then a good hour or so after that on the course. The prelight draw was good and had a hint of spicyness but I didn't really notice any spice while smoking it. I enjoyed the flavors of the cigar, mostly nutty to me with some sweetness. Towards the middle the heavy cream flavors really came out and it became very enjoyable. It was a very smooth smoke and I would venture to guess it had been aged for at least a small amount of time. I began having some draw problems towards the end but it was also very humid out and that could easily be the problem.
Overall I would rate the cigar an 8.3 and will be looking to get at least one more in the future. I've heard good things about the 92 as well and may look there. The best part: after my sacrafice to the gods (and it must have been a generous one) I promptly chipped in from the fairway on the next hole for my first eagle of the season. Well worth it! Thanks papajohn! |
