Re: Taking cover.... Do you wear a hat?

Hah, well, I think age plays into consideration here.

I used to a lot, but only a couple times week, and it depends where I'm going/what I do. Yeah, I know, it sounds like too much tought. I have a slick looking velcro'd hat from the Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, OH that I wear if I'm golfing, driving, or just dressing fairly well.

And then there are the "ghetto" hats--you know, the fitted, flat-billed New Era hats. I have two, both of the Cincinnati Reds. One is just stock--a red hat with a white "C" in the front, and another that has the front 2 eights red, each 2 eights on the sides white, and the back 2 eights red, with red/white striped seams down it. It has little "C"s of opposite (red/white) color in appropriate sections, with a white "C" in the middle.

Only while I'm awake. Pretty much always a golf hat of some sort.

I wear hats all the time. Mostly this kind:

It's a Kangol 504, I wear it forward not backwards like some. I wear the mesh one as well, because it breathes really well.

I wear a Tilley T3 when I want to keep the sun off my ears. Otherwise I'm wearing a Yankees cap. And I'm not even hiding anything...I've got a full head of hair!

Re: Taking cover.... Do you wear a hat?

Answer your own question gladhatter! What do you wear?

We've progressed from a society that almost demanded a man wear some type of hat when outside, to one where it's become the 'in' thing to appear part of the ghetto crowd. Seems men stopped wearing hats in general around JFK's era. Not sure why it's now considered cool to wear a baseball hat cocked to some angle, and I most definitely do not understand why most people who do so don't have the decency to take them off indoors.

Personally, I don't generally wear a hat unless I'm trying to keep my head warm in the winter. Lately though, I've picked up a nice straw hat to wear in the yard when I'm out enjoying a nice smoke.

Re: Taking cover.... Do you wear a hat?

used to wear baseball hats (non tilted, non fitted, rounded bill, facing forward) all the time-since the dreadlocks got a little out of control, i can't fit a damn hat on my head-maybe it's time for one of them nifty rasta things

Re: Taking cover.... Do you wear a hat?

Never use to wear a hat until I went in the Army - now I wear them all the time. I prefer low profile ball caps, cotton or twill with leather or cotton adjustments. No plastics. I guess it was being in the Army, being a Surveyor and then in the trades that got me hooked.

I also like my Filson's and Tilley LTM5 pictured below.

Cobblers Son syndrome here I fear. Well not exactly I do have a dozen Fedora or similar brimed dress hats that I call my own. I have a barell full of fine Sterling Beaver hat bodies that I will convert to finest hats some day as well but seems to never be time to make a personal hat for me. I have had one body blocked for close to a year now and hope to make a hat of it soon but we had a new baby almost 5 months ago and now we are about 6 months behind and catching up.

Here is a couple pretty hats however but not mine personally unfortunatly.

I will post a couple of mine in a minute if I can find pix.

You can see plenty here: http://www.gladhatter.com/forum/view...126e44e0895c1e

Re: Taking cover.... Do you wear a hat?

I used to have to wear one of those to work. Now I'll be wearing a hardhat or no hat at all. I don't look good in hats, so I just dont wear them.
