Oops, wife just figured out who much I spent...

My wife just busted out my credit card statements and added up the last three months of cigar expenditures. (I guess I shouldn't have mentioned how much she spends on cloths in passing. ) It was WAY more than I thought I had spent.

I tried to explain that I didn't actually smoke the dollar amount she calculated. I figured I had only smoked about 20% of the total amount, which was still alot. That argument didn't really win me any favor. Nor did it help when I mentioned I could always sell off what I had (even though I wouldn't) and recover a lot of the money spent.

I think it was good thing. I need to chill out. I think I'm officially done chasing Anejos, Opus, and VSG for the time being. I think it's back to just restocking my daily smokes when I run out for a while. I think this sort of spending behavior is to be expected for a new enthusiastic cigar smoker (the slope.)

This happen to anyone else? I'd love to hear some great "revelation" stories.

I'd rather not say the dollar amount. Let's just say I went from nothing to about 12 boxes, various samples and singles, multiple coolers, beads, lighter, multiple cutters, etc. It was in the four figures range....

I"m in the same boat, I just won three bids on the devil site, and she's asking already why there are boxes arriving. PIF's I tell her, but she's getting a bit curious now.

Yep, The wife flips out evertime a box comes. If it is in the mail I tell her they are trades or PIF. When DHL shows up its a different story. I always say it will be the last time but it never is, She says I have a problem.

We all have a problem. Hell, we're spending our free time on a cigar board for gosh sakes! But...FWIW, we've all met some great people here (and it could be a lot worse...better spending the $$ on cigars than other, less desirable "vices" so to speak, LOL!)

That would probably be the reason I haven't bought anything online. So far I have only bought from the local B&M and only used cash. Hopefully I can keep it that way.

Most of us are obsessive compulsive about cigars. It's better not to hide purchases from the wife though-just makes it worse. When they see your humidor fill up they know you are buying them.
