A concert for Virginia Tech

So, they're going to have a convert here for Virginia Tech supposedly to help "heal" after the killings last spring semester. Anybody who is faculty, staff or students at VT (even if not here when the shootings happened) can get a free ticket. Course, they assign them randomly so I can't sit beside my wife or friends, should we decide to go. Instead of allowing people to pick up tickets at the same time that are side by side, they randomly assign then ... but then have a swap meet on the drillfield so people can try to swap tickets and sit closer to their friends. LOL. Booger eating morons.

The stupidity doesn't stop there.

The first people who deserve to be offered tickets to this are the first responders .. the cops, the EMTs, as well as the people in the hospitals who busted ass to save people's lives. They have said that there is "an allocation" for first responders but nobody has said how many tickets are provided to them. That pisses me off.

One of the performers will be NAS. I hope he sings his song "shoot 'em up" ....

They should get a lot of the audience singing the chorus of that one .

I'll be dropping my ticket off at a local hospital that treated many of the victims in case somebody there wants to go, although frankly, I doubt there is much demand. I'd prefer to get a root canal that watch this kind of crapper rapper.

I guess we need our heroes, even if only to save us from the very problems they promote and bring about.

It is amazing that folks think a concert will "heal" tragedies because these awesome rock stars and celebrities have healing powers that no others possess.

IMO, implementing better security procedures and policies would be money well spent instead of some lame concert. And will provide more comfort to the families of incoming freshman.

But of course, that wouldn't feel as good as an MTV-style event.
