Sports Talk

Thought I would open a thread specifically dedicated to sports. The purpose of this thread is to provide a forum for anybody to say anything about sports. Just seems like sports fans and cigar lovers are often one and the same.

Remember Red Auerbach lighting up his victory cigar when the Celtics had the game won? I'm not a Celtics fan, but even as a kid I thought that was cool! Can't imagine that happening nowadays in our politically sensitive world...

I went to my 13th consecutive opening day of the Colorado Rockies. A typical Coors Field home run derby affair with the Rox rookie Clint Barmes blasting a walkoff homer and handing Colorado a 12-10 victory. A good time, with a few beers downed. I spent most of the game in the Mountain Ranch Club above the right field stands. Kind of a hoot!

I guarantee that the Padres will NOT win today!

Of course, it is an off day so I am fairly confident in my prediction...

This young woman was a teacher in Fort Collins, CO, where I reside. I pass the school every day on my way to work. It is a very sad day in Fort Collins and Colorado.

Unbelievable that with all of the protection these things happen, but they do. Very sad.

I wouldn't pick against the Marlins. Is this the year the Braves finally do not win the division?

Can't imagine that happening nowadays because the Celts have sucked for some time, and are a long way from achieving a Championship.

Watching the Red Sox game right now Yanks 3 -2 in 7th

Threads a good idea though

Re: Sports Talk

Labor Day is coming up.. Florida State/Miami. I am looking forward to smoking my victory cigar. (Have been saving it for a long while)

I am a Devil Ray Fan, so when I go I will tell the board. I will be one of the 15 people there.

I love the soccer, very sad that Manchester United is done in the league, but they can still win a cup, which would be nice. Come closer to World Cup we will talk more about the US team.

Alas the Colorado Rapids dropped a 3-2 decision to the Kansas City Wizards. Wished they would have come away with some points, but KC has a good club.

I am planning to go to the home opener against FC Dallas on Saturday. Should be an epic struggle with Eddie Johnson and Reyes up front for FC Dallas.

Hey, I'm one of the 24 people that have a Devil Ray jersey! I have hope.. not for this year, but for the future. I was a fan of the Bucs and the Lightning when they were doormats too.

chances are youll be saving that cigar a while longer. FSU has no chance of beating UM again.

Marlins rocked Smoltz as expected. from top to bottom on that lineup everyone has the potential to be an All-Star.
