Him stepping up and posting that says a lot. Still, there will be lots of people upset that it is a store credit and not a refund.

"Therefore, we have decided to offer every iPhone customer who purchased an iPhone from either Apple or AT&T, and who is not receiving a rebate or any other consideration, a $100 store credit towards the purchase of any product at an Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store."

My new-in-box 4 GB iPhone that I got last night for $299 is awesome!

That's a great thing for Apple to do, although the first customers really have no right to complain in the first place. If you want to be the first to get the hottest new electronic device you have to be willing to pay the price. Of course the price is going to go down a couple months after the release, did they seriously think it wouldn't?

I would really be interested in this or at the very least the Touch Ipod but both have the same problem for me and that is simply it isn't anywhere near big enough for my music collection. I need at least a 100 GB in order to even conside giving up my 60 GB Ipod.

I will say I would be extremely pissed to be out $200 within 2 months of the things release. That is not a "Bumpy technology road" that is simply a case of jacking up the price to get more cash on the release. You can not have significant production saving within 2 months to justify that price drop. Plain and simple the thing was overpriced when it was first released. Then again no one forced anyone to buy it in the first place.

If you have bought the iphone in the last 14 days and have a receipt, take it to where you got it and apple will refund your money....(Always been Apple's 14 day policy)

A lot of people are feeling ripped off right now, because they paid what I call the Early Adopter Tax. I didn’t pay that, so I’m gloating right about now.

anyone who wanted to be the first guy at work to have the shiny new toy shouldn't be bitching about the price that they willingly paid for it. they had to know the price would go down - after all, it's a CELL PHONE...
