Favorite Song from 5th grade

Okay, so you guys are probably thinking this is a stupid topic BUT, I have made the best CDs from peoples favorite songs from 5th grade. It doesn't matter if this was 1901 or if this was last year, (although I hope we don't have any 12 year olds smoking stogies).

Please list some of your favorites, sorry if this makes some of you feel old , but mine were: Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise, Ace of Base - The Sign, and The Presidents of the United States - Peaches

Re: Favorite Song from 5th grade

When I hit the fifth grade music had taken the nosedive into disco, and, with the exception of my Cheap Trick, Kiss, Monkees, and Beatles albums, there wasn't a whole hell of a lot else from that era that I liked! But here are the songs that helped me survive disco!!!:

SURRENDER-Cheap Trick
STRUTTER '78- Kiss
HIGHWAY TO HELL- AC/DC
LOVE GUN- Kiss

Re: Favorite Song from 5th grade

Interesting post.

My 5th grade year blessed us with the likes of:

Like a Virgin - Madonna
Careless Whisper - Wham
I Can't Fight this Feeling - REO Speedwagon

and who can forget...

We are the World by USA for Africa.

Personally, my favorites that year, as evidenced by my investment of my weekly allowance:

Money for Nothing - Dire Straits
A View to a Kill - Duran Duran (yeah, yeah)
Everybody Wants to Rule the World - Tears for Fears.
Highwaymen - Highwaymen
Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes - George Jones

Re: Favorite Song from 5th grade

Interesting topic. I wasn't much into music when I was in 5th grade. It was called "Year 4" where I was going to school at the time - English Private Catholic School. Not much music going on in that place!

I started getting into music a year or so later when the family moved back to the States. 6th grade it is, then:

"Kiss is on my Lips", Hall and Oates
"Tide is High", Blondie
"Morning Train", Sheena Easton (actually called "9 to 5" in England where is was released first; had to change the name because of the Dolly Parton song by the same name).
"Tainted Love", Soft Cell
The entire "Flash" album by Queen!

Aaron.

Re: Favorite Song from 5th grade

Hrm, so in 5th grade was when i met my best friend today and he influenced my music a lot, so I would say

Master of Puppets - Metallica
Enter Sandman - Metallica

Then you have all that punk crap that no one will hear about in 10 years...

Re: Favorite Song from 5th grade

Don't think of it as feeling old, think of it as teaching us young whippersnappers a thing or two about your time. Educating us in the finer things in life
