Good ol' Ernie. He's been a pain in the rear in the Nebraska unicameral (single house legislature) for years. But, his constituents elect him time and time again. He gives ***holes a bad name. Another good reason to be an ex-Nebraskan.

I live in Omaha, fortunately not in the section represented by him. Sad thing is, he has a pretty high IQ. I think the thing with him is that he has to try hard to be as stupid as the people who elect him. If he acted his IQ, he would not get elected.

BTW - Term limits were instituted in Nebraska just to get this clown out of office. This is his last term.

Well, Nebraska has plenty of extra money to waste. They tax the holy crap out of everything. Of course, folks in agriculture pay way more than their fair share. Property taxes are unbelievable. The taxes went up on my 30 year old house $1,000 in one year. Ag land taxes are insane. The population of Nebraksa is in Lincoln, Omaha and Grand Island. They figured out long ago they could balance the books on the back's of farmer's and ranchers and not pay much themselves. Blood suckers.

Worked out great for me. I probably would still be working my butt off on the ranch if taxes would have been reasonable. We moved to Wyoming 10 years for fresh air and low taxes. That's worked out just fine (I pay less than 1/3 of the taxes I paid in Nebraska).
