Tree rat is good eatin !

It always amazes me! People will willing eat raw fish in sushi, raw oysters, raw clams, fish eggs, mountain oysters, slimy snails and the such, but balk at eating squirrel, pigeon, rabbits, even venison!

Fried squirrel with gravy and biscuits for breakfast Hard to beat, and it has about ten times the flavor, and 100% less chemicals as chicken! Season opens in Alabama in about 20 days. There will be squirrel in the freezer by the end of November (if we get a frost by then).

Have had my fair share of Squirrel Dumplings!! Even ate a few Bullfrogs. I have switched to more veggies as of late because of cholesterol issues. I would say don't really eat jackrabbits because they are too wormy. Possum and Armadillo is a bit greasy or fatty. I would eat Armadillo over possum any day. The problem of eating some of these animals is that some have been known to carry various disease that ain't good for humans.

I ate pack rat in Desert Survival School in the New Mexican desert. It tasted grainy. I have tried a lot of different rodents.

You gotta try nutria! It may look like a big water rat, but it's very healthy meat. They only eat live plant roots and on top of that there is a bounty on nutria in Louisiana. Once you get a license/registered to hunt them, the state pays per pelt.

I've had nutria sausage, stew, and chili. It taste like how you season it.

I can honestly say that I've never had that type of meat, But to survive I'd be willing to eat almost anything. The thing that I found funny was if you look at the other videos they have a video of a drunk squirrel. Funny as hell.

Man I cannot believe all the people that wouldn't eat squirrel. It tastes just like rabbit, and all meat is good if it is cooked right, over an open flame sounds good.
