The LAST ISOM...
I was listening to the radio this morning. The morning
crew has 1 female and 2 male DJ's. The female was telling a story because she could not figure out why her husband got so mad. Here it is... Her husband was out so she decided to have a girls night out at her house. Several of her girlfriends and herself were having drinks on her deck when she said "Wow, a cigar would really be great now!" (We've all been there.) Sooooo, she goes into the house and finds her husbands hidden humidor. It was locked in a desk drawer. (He has another humi that sits out but it was downstairs and she did not want to walk all the way down there to get a cigar.) This is a small desk top model humi. She opens it and sees this really great looking cigar. She takes it, goes back to the deck, fires it up. She and her girlfriends smoke about half of it and they snub it out because while it was good it was "kinda strong". Then to keep it fresh she takes it back in and puts the half smoked stogie back into the humi.x( Her husband comes home (while the women are still there) and finds his stashed humi sitting out. He opens it and see this half smoked stogie laying there. He marchs out to the deck and confronts his wife. She admits they smoked it and saved the last half for him. He blows a gasket! She and her friends cannot understand why he is getting so upset about one cigar. You see he had purchased this aged havana three years ago and was saving it for a special occasion. It was his only ISOM!!! (poor guy):'( The female DJ was asking the listeners to call in. She wanted to know if she had done a really bad thing. The calls poured in. They told her that cubans are illegal in the U.S. (she didn't know this). They also told her about aged ISOM's and how expensive they can be and they better they ususally get. They also explained that you do not snub it out and put it back into the humi. And that half smoked cigars do not usually taste as good. Then she started to get an idea of how big of a "bad" she had committed. Then she wanted to know how she could replace it. Which most told her she can't because they are illegal. So, she says "I guess I owe him one big time?" The only suggestion that listeners suggested to make it up to him was BJ's twice a day for life.:7 :9 :P |

RE: The LAST ISOM...
LOL! I have a friend who told me he had 2 slightly simular acts of "oops!".
Story 1: His wife has a tupperware party at his house. all the women show up and notice all the ashtrays on the patio. They start talking about how nice having a cigar sounded since they were all not really cigar smokers and thought it would be a nice change. My buddy's wife knows he has tons of cigars in multiple humidors around the house, so she goes to look for cigars to pass around thinking he wont mind considering the quantity he has. She finds he has lots and lots of the same cigar with the same pretty bands, so she figures these would be okay to pass out. A few hours later, he comes home from work and decides to go out to the patio to have a cigarette. His jaw hits the concrete as he scans the patio tables. Theres 8 or 9 ashtrays, and in each of them is at least 2 to 3 Opus X cigars. Some are only burned down less than an inch, and many less than that. Im not quite sure if he is still married to her LOL Story 2 from the same guy: He has a big herf at his house a few years ago. He places a few humidors out in plain view so his guests can pretty much take what they want to smoke. He hides his prized cigar humidor in the garage. The party is going well, and he happens into the gargage later that evening. He almost fainted at the sight in front of him. There were 5-6 folks there playing ping pong. His humidor was not in its original place either. Looking a little closer at the folks, he noticed that they all had Dunhills & Davidoffs lit (no, not the Dominican versions). He was so furious he thought he better leave the garage before he blows a gasket. He picks up his humidor & takes it to his bedroom. Now he goes to the patio and there in front of the outdoor firepit, is a lady peeling off something shiney off a cigar. He asks her where she got the cigar. She replies that one of the guys playing ping pong gave it to her. He looks closer at whats shes doing and notices that shes tearing off the foil off a Bolivar Gold Medal. He freaks out and asks her if she has any idea how much that cigar is worth. Her reply: "I dont know, why? its only a cigar" He marches back up to the bedroom and opens his humidor to find that most of his prized 1980 Bolivar Gold Medals, all of the Davidoff Dom Perignons, Dunhills, & other rare discontinued cigars are gone. Needless to say, he never hosted another party at his house that Im aware of. LMAO! |

RE: The LAST ISOM...
i can say with absolute certainty that even if this cigar was the most fabulous, rare, aged isom ever known to man... that if his wife were to agree to the twice-a-day BJ's for the rest of his life, it will have been the best deal he has ever made and will ever make in his life.
just mho though. }>

RE: The LAST ISOM...
I wouldn't have settled for anything less than a BJ while I was smoking a cigar for the rest of my life.}>

RE: The LAST ISOM...
The 2 male DJ's and male callers determined this would be the best way to say she was sorry. One caller suggested getting a BJ from each of the women that attended the party too.}>
When my wife heard the story this morning she could not believe how stupid the DJ was. She said "I would never give out any of your cigars. I wouldn't know if I was giving a good one or an OK one away." Hearing that story really hurt. It was like seeing another guy getting kicked in the nades and having sympathy pain.x( :'( |

RE: The LAST ISOM...
I feel all of your pain! But I can not speak from experience. I have my cigars in a padlock protected drawers. Within these drawers are key locked humis. All of which I am the only one with a key. Spares are hidden in a locker.
Am I paranoid? Nah just careful! And I rest assurred everytime I leave for the weekend! ;-)
