I know, but it happened to me my first day in Frankfurt at some bar with telephones at the tables back in the late eighties. The high wheat content in the hef reacts to the acid.

Re: Frankfurt AirPort

Now, this is almost 20 years ago.....I picked up my wife at the Frankfurt Airport. At the Arrival gate there is a ***** store. That didn't sound right.
Well, I don't know much about cigars over there, I was 19 at the time, didn't smoke them then.
But!!! As far as things to do in Frankfurt, you have to go to Sachsenhausen Area, in Frankfurt. It has the Hardrock Frankfurt, and alot of other places to drink some Bier!!! There is also K-Strasse.....where you can indulge in the worlds oldest profession.
I worked these areas when I was an Army MP, with the German Polizie.

Can I go with you? PLEASE!!!!!!

I've been to that place!!!! Had #'s on the tabels, and you just dial the # and talk to the people. It was called the Bier Haus, i think. They would bring you the big 1 liter beers too.

we may have been there at the same time, but i was TDY at the time. my NCOIC had just been stationed there at V Corps HQ, so he knew the area well. we hung out at a couple places in Sachsenhausen, then went to some underground/punk place out in the boondocks called the Botchkopf. where someone promptly slit one of my rental van tires.... we had to get off the main drag through that town, the only place was behind the houses where they park... some lady kept cussing at us to get out of her driveway, then her husband drove up, he got out of the Mercedes, hopped into a wheelchair and we were all like, "what the fluck, over?" dude had some funky paddles on the dash of his car that allowed him to drive while being paralyzed. he was totally cool to us, allowed us to change tires and get the hell outta dodge.

i learned, earlier that night, that you use your thumb for "one", not the index finger - i was wondering why they kept bringing me two biers??

Re: Frankfurt AirPort

yep. that story about the slashed tire is from '91.
we were staying in frankfurt, working up in Frieburg (where elvis was stationed).
remember they had a Chi-Chi's across the way on post in Frankfurt.

down where i was stationed, Hohenfels, it was like Xmas if you got a day off with other ppl to drive all the way to Graf just to nab some Chi-Chi's.

Did you eat at the Elvis Presley Memorial Dining Facility? I should have taken a picture of that. It was on the Base at Frieburg.

Yeah, that was the place. I have a lot of good memories for the short time I was there. Only three months, but is was worth it. I see we are in the same business (police), but I am AF.

Re: Frankfurt AirPort

I found out Wednesday night that I won a 7 night, 8 day trip to Munich sometime in late April. I entered a contest at the Oktoberfest last weekend and to my supprise, I won.

I don't know all the details yet because I have been at the hospital with my Dad since 4 am Thursday and just happened to find this computer with internet access a couple minutes ago.

When get some more information, I am going to need to pick your brains for some information.

My world travels amount to little more than a couple trips to Victoria British Columbia and a couple days in Tijuana Mexico.

Take care
Ken

I found these..http://maps.google.com/maps?

At the hotel, just ask the reception desk where the closest one is. Or if you feel adventurous, just get in a cab and say," Wo ist der Zigarre laden, bitte?"
