Manhattan Hotels

The little woman and I are thinking about going to NYC Dec 26 - Jan 2. Want to stay Manhattan in or near the thick of things.

Any hotel recommendations? Don't mind spending a bit on hotels for comfort and amenities. 4-5 stars. But I'm not opposed to saving money either...

Was looking at the Westin off Times Square. I haven't been to NYC since the mid-seventies, so I need help. That trip I stayed off Times Square. I'm hoping that the hotel won't be next door to the 'Gaiety Male Burlesque', like last time.

Anything near Times Square is great. If you haven't been hear since the mid 70's, you might not recognize it. It's been completely overhauled. No more seedy joints to worry about! The Westin would be a great choice.

The Crown Plaza I believe it is called is a good spot. A little pricy.
Some of the NYC guys could reiterate.

Re: Manhattan Hotels

All of the hotels in/around the Times Square area will be pricey. All of the hotels in Manhattan are pricey. Location and amenities could offset the extra $$.

As this trip is more for my wife, location and amenities are a priority.

Got the lube ready...

I don't think that we'll get a car. But if we do, we'll let you know.

Re: Manhattan Hotels

That is probably the worst week of the year price wise to stay in the city. Take a look at the W on 39th and Lexington as that is a great neighborhood and it is convenient to everything.
