The small town schools my kids go to outlawed the cupcakes and cakes a yr or 2 ago...but they did it to prevent having to replace the carpet in the rooms...oh and no drinks for the kids parties either...cookies and goodie bags to take home...man...my poor kids....

I say we get together and have some cupcakes delivered to the school compliments of CS I am sure that the school board would greatly appreciate a bunch of cigar smokers sending their students cupcakes as a sign of protest.

Shouldn't the schools focus more on the food they actually serve instead of what comes into the school for the occasional "party."

I for one want my kids to have cupcakes. I want my kids to have an enjoyable childhood, being an adult sucks.

We celebrated with cupcakes and cookies when I was in school in the 70s and 80s and we only had three fat kids out of 30+ students. Let's blame modern health problems on traditions. Great idea!

I would agree with one addition or substitution. . . Shouldn't schools focus on TEACHING instead of what food gets served or not served?!?
Conversations with my 2 recently graduated nieces (both now in college) make me fear for the future of this country. Time for a smoke!
