Tragedy Strikes!

I went to grab a cigar from my humi before I went to the pool hall tonight and found the lid open. I guess I left it open when I filled the humidifier and it brought me to my knees when I saw it. Dropped to 45-50% and the sticks on the tray where in a bit of bad shape. I got it to climb back to 60% so I think I may be safe.

Re: Tragedy Strikes!

They'll probably be just fine. I've revived a box of cigars that sat on the top shelf of a guy's closet for 2 years.

Cigats can be a lot more resilient than we think.
Of course they still need to be properly taken care of.

Those sticks should be fine. I believe Mo is right, stogies are more resilient than we all think. Just give them some TLC and don't rush them back to humidity too quickly.

Re: Tragedy Strikes!

I have had that happen a few times over the years and the cigars have always come back. I would not be too concerned.

Don't sweat it. Now if you leave one in the car when the thermometer is touching 95 outside and 130 inside and go off and do something for 3 hours expect a little kiln dried action when you return. I know all too well. And still it smoked quite nicely.

Re: Tragedy Strikes!

Dont sweat it they should be fine. Look what they go through when they are shipped. Those conditions are bad. Your situation will be fine.
